We are looking for two senior physicians in internal medicine to Avesta Hospital in Dalarna, Sweden. We are especially looking for you that have experience and knowledge within endocrine and diabetes care and/or you with expertise in internal medicine with a focus on kidney medicine/dialysis.

About the clinic
Avesta hospital is a small county hospital that provides health care to residents in southern Dalarna and northern Västmanland. A few years back we merged the emergency department and the clinics for medicine, geriatrics and rehabilitation which provides us with fantastic conditions for a fast and efficient handling in the entire care chain - from the emergency department, via wards to rehabilitation in the patient's home. The hospital has 45 beds divided between the emergency department, internal medicine and the department for acute geriatrics, stroke and rehabilitation. The emergency department is open 24/7 and handles approx. 18,000 patients per year. The specialized outpatient care is a large part of the every day work where we receive patients and perform assessments within e.g. cardiology (echocardiography, Holter-type system, ambulatory blood pressure measurements, TEE, stress test), endocrinology, nephrology including hemodialysis, gastroenterology (gastro and colonoscopies), sleep tests (breathing recordnings and polysomnographies) and dementia assessments. We also do general internal medicine assessments and geriatric assessments and treatments such as bone marrow sampling, ultrasonic drainage, lumbar punctures etc. In addition to comprehensive inpatient paramedical care the clinic also has day rehabilitation and home rehabilitation. In total the clinic has 200 employees within different professions. We attach great importance to having an educational climate and our goal is to be the best educational hospital for interns. About the position
As a specialist in internal medicine you will receive a defined focus area of responsibility within the clinics broad assignment and you will thereby be prepared for a position as a senior physician (överläkare). Together with the other senior physician you will have a great responisibility for both the inpatient and outpatione care. The duties include 24/7 back-up call, departmental responsibilities as well as outpatient reception and diagnostics. When on back-up call during the weekends you will have the support of a resident doctor. You will be a supervisor for our interns and/or residents and thereby be an important contributor to our excellent educational climate.

The Public Dental Health Care in Dalarna consists of 22 clinics within general dentistry, clinics with orthodontic specialties, dental hospital care and our own prosthetic laboratory.

We are looking for radiologists who are either active reasearchers or who have an interest in doing research as part of their job. Placement is at our mammography clinic in Falun, Dalarna.
We offer a meaningful and stimulating job where you will be able to work independently. This position is at a smaller clinic where we work daytime, Monday to Friday. We have a good team at the clinic and short decision paths. The clinic has well-established routines and we work closely with our colleagues within both pathology and surgery. Between the years 2022-2023 we will install new mammography equipment throughout Dalarna.
In this unique position you will work 50% as a breast radiologist where you will see patients and review screening images. The other 50% is dedicated to reasearch within the filed of mammography. You will do your research at Region Dalarna's Center for Clinical Research (CKF).
The mammography department at the László Tabár clinic in Falun is a small, high-quality clinic located on the top floor of the hospital with wonderful panoramic views of Falun. We try to ensure the best care for women with a multimodal approach to patient care and a large multi-disciplinary team of radiologists, pathologist, surgeons and nurses. Our goal is to minimize mortality from breast cancer. We treat patients from all of Dalarna and every year we do 34.000 screenings and 12.000 clinical examinations.
The Center for Clinical Research (CKF) is the hub for reasearch within health care and dental health care in Region Dalarna and CKF provides a creative workplace and meeting arena. CKF has a contractual collaboration with Uppsala University and many other collaborative projects within the Helth care region of Central Sweden as well as with Dalarna University. CKF gives courses and seminars on a regular basis, they give advice and support in research matters as well as managing and distributing regional research funds. Approximately 45 postgraduates and researchers are affiliated with CKF and the department is led by a manager who reports back to the head of Research and Higher Education.
